Sunday Swatches: Lakme Reinvent 9 to 5 collection!!

Hi Beauties,
Hope you all are having a good time with your loved and peer ones!!

Thanks to globalization today, in 2013, we have thousands of brands from across the globe, at our fingertips.
We can choose our suitable makeups according to our Skin types, Skin tones, Occasions …there are zillions of options out there….

However there was a time when the Indian cosmetic giant Lakme was the reigning queen of Indian Make up space.
Quality and Lakme was synonymous.

I bet most of you out there have sweet memories/stories associated with the brand Lakme.

As far as I remember Lakme was first introduced to me by my mother. You know how?
Back then, I remember my mother used to feel good, whenever she used to buy Lakme lipsticks or loose powder etc etc.
She used to apply those makeups on me during my School Annual Functions!!
Even after decades Lakme has a special place in my heart ….

Well, time has changed and so has the brand Lakme, and thank God they never left the up-curve.

Lakme now has wide ranges of makeup; their collection includes Lakme Classics, Lakme Absolute and Lakme Reinvent 9 to 5 collections!!

Today I am going to show you the lipstick swatches from their latest Lakme 9 to 5 collections.

Swatches!!
The SA in the beauty outlets told me there are 12 shades in this collections but I guess there could me some more.

Out of the dozen that I had tried, I ended up picking these two shades.

Shade no. MM2 (Wine play) :
Colour: It is a soft wine shade with some finely milled bluish glitters that hardy shows up when applied. Personally I don’t like glitters in my lip product.
Texture:  This has very soft texture which glides on easily. It does not accentuate lines of my lips. Though it does not need moisturizer underneath but if you have chapped lips do a bit of balming.
Coverage: Good enough to hide pigmentations on lips.

If you want a soft wine shade I suggest you try this one.

Shade no. MR2 (Red Chaos):
Colour: The name a bit misnomer. I guess for me it’s kind of soft peachy brown. It may differ on you. It is a regular day and night shade for all skin tones.
Texture:  Same as the above one (MM2)
Coverage: It is good enough; however apply at-least two swipes to get the full effect.

I can vouch for the staying power of the collection.
It stayed on for a good 6 hours for me. I changed it afterwatds.

Conclusion:
§        I love the shades for daily wears. None of them are OTT except some having fine glitters..
§  The colour of the packaging is rose toned copper which looks adorable..
§  It is semi matte so not much touch up is needed unless you have a full meal in between.
§  Only issue that I had found is, most shades in this collection are from same colour family.

WB verdict: Very Good!!

I wish I’d picked up MPH as well. May be later!!
